Personal Narrative-My First Sectional Championship Game

It was an early cold Saturday morning. Walking on the bus seeing a mixture of tired and nervous faces. It was the game we wanted to happen badily. Rochester would be playing Springfield in the Sectional Championship game. Everyone was ready for the game, the amount of hype going into the game was incredible. The long bus ride let everyone do their own pre game rituals. Sitting in the back of the bus I listened to my before game playlist on repeat. We arrived to see our opponents starting their warm ups.
It was an interesting feeling during warm ups. Everyone was very focused on the game.
There was no joking around, nothing but serious faces getting ready for the game. The feeling of being the underdogs really motivated us to go out and get the win. We wanted revenge on Springfield, who had beat us in the previous year in Super-Sectionals. The game was going to be a hard fought battle. Both of us knew the other team’s weapons and weaknesses. There was no room for error in this game, it was win or go home. Stepping onto the game field after warm ups gave me the chills. I had been in this place before playing in a Sectional Championship, but this game was different it was my senior year. I was playing in a game that could be my last in a Rochester jersey. I was so focused on the game I was not able to hear all of the yelling from the stands and benches. The Springfield coach was also known for his voice on the sidelines. The feeling of touching the ball this game was something I had never felt before. I was nervous to get the ball and make a mistake in this big of a game. On the other hand, Springfield seemed very calm and composed while on the ball. Springfield scored the first goal of the game and carried it into the half. It was a bad goal to concede and some players on the team seemed to lose faith once they scored
