Hair is so much more than just a look it can be a reflection and reinforcement of who you are and sometimes your hair speaks for you, even when you don’t say a thing. Something that many people may not know about me is that I have very thick curly hair and I mask it by straightening it. When I was younger, I was told I had “bad hair” and that my natural curls weren't pretty and being so young and insecure I believed it, so I started my everyday routine of flattening my curls straight. I wanted to fit in and look like all the others girls in school and in order to do that I needed to get rid of my curls. I then noticed that people began to treat me differently when I had it straightened. I all of a sudden was the pretty girl with the “perfect hair”.
