Personal Narrative: My Hero In Softball

When you think of a hero who do you think of? A hero isn’t always someone who saves a life or does something extraordinary. My dad Eric Smith is my Michigan hero. He grew up in a poor family. They lived in an old trailer with one brother and one sister. He didn’t have many nice things. Today he is a plumber and I am grateful that he works hard every day to put a roof over my head and food on the table.
One of the many things he does is coaches and helps me to learn and improve in softball. Softball is a big part of my life. I play all year around on travel teams. When he comes to our games he sits behind the plate to cheer me on. When I’m batting he says stuff like “you got this” and “watch it from the knee”. My dad practices with me every
