Personal Narrative: My Identity In Football

The word identity means, "the fact of being who or what a person or thing is." Everyone and everything has an identity. It is who you are, what you like, what you do. Everyone is different. On the outside I may seem like a typical high school athlete. I workout, I play sports, and I like to have fun with my friends, but there is more to me than what people see. I like to listen to weird music, I love fashion, I read more books than I can count, and I hate video games. To me, music is freeing. It relaxes me and makes me think. But, as much as I loved the sport, I was awful. I played too timid and scared and never really knew what to do. It was not until eighth when everything about the sport just clicked with me. I scored almost every touchdown and made just about every tackle. Football is still my release. I look forward to going to practice every day and giving the sport my all, because to me, that is what I owe it. My friends, new and old, have a special place in my heart. The amount of time you know someone does not matter when it comes to how close you are to them and how much you care for them. In the past two years I have made friends that I love and care about more than I do than some people I have known since elementary. When we all get together, we usually build a big bonfire, get a speaker, back our truck to the flame and talk about girls, sports, and school for hours on end. I know they will always have my back. I am a simple guy, just give me some good music, some good friends and any kind of ball and I will be satisfied. I do not think God made me to be understood by anyone, I think I was made to leave my
