My grandparents came to the United States of America from Germany between World War 1 and World War 2. I am grateful that the U.S. let my ancestors come to the U.S. even though the nation of Germany was not on good terms with the U.S. at the time. It is my belief that the way our country has grown and remained strong is based upon our attitude towards others. We have been a welcoming nation and I believe that we should continue to be so, particularly to those who are fleeing war torn areas and poverty-stricken countries. This is based upon my knowledge of my family and all that we have contributed to our country. All my grandparents’ descendants are kind hardworking Americans.
