I remember my first book it was so distinct the way i remember me being so captivated by scooby-doo doing dangerous stuff for scooby snacks. Although at the time i had no idea that i was taking a journey into literacy i do remember the experience of trying to teach myself how to read, write, and understand .

i know that it was the hardest thing that i had to do between having elder brothers that had no time to teach me.My mother and father that were illiterate and my learning of my multiplications, sign language i didnt really have time to learn to read or comprehend it . i still remember the first time i picked up a book i would just look through the pictures and see if i could understand . it wasn’t until my brother taught me the alphabet and the sounds of them that i actually started to comprehend .by sounding out the words like cat and thinking it was spelled kat .

my literacy journey was full of mistakes, it was full of anger it was even full of tears and happiness .i may know how to read and write but i still have a long way to go because i’m not so good at understanding but it’s another journey i must take in order to get to know
