Personal Narrative: My Life As A Baseball Player

On May 25, 2013 I had the best experience of my life that I will never forget! It was the first time I have ever walked onto Howard J. Lamade Stadium, in Williamsport, PA. I have dreamed of this day since I started watching and playing baseball. I have been playing baseball since I was 5 years old. Baseball is a sport that I love and I sport that I excel in. It was also my first time staying in a hotel. The day before we had the baseball camp my teammates and I stayed at the Fairfield Hotel, which is 7 minutes to the stadium. The hotel had an indoor pool, which became the place to hangout with my friends. Also, free breakfast each morning! My mom packed coolers full of snacks and drinks for the weekend. The first night we all went to Buffalo Wild Wings, a sports restaurant with lots of TVs. Each of my teammates were able to play games on the mini-IPADS, while the parents socialized. My teammates and I met at Volunteer Stadium for an instructional session on hitting. The session consisted of body mechanics. What this means is that the coaches want to make sure that your stance is at the plate is the proper hitting position. After the instructional session, you were able to go to the designated area to work on your current position. Example, I play shortstop, so I went to the shortstop coaches area. Our lunch break was from 12:30pm to 1:00pm.
My first game was at 2:00pm on Lamade Stadium. I could not believe I was going to play in a game on the Little League World Series fields. A dream come true. My team, SouthWest was to play against Mid Atlantic. SouthWest marched onto the field. I played short-stop. We shut Mid Atlantic down in the 1st
