Personal Narrative: My Life As A Basketball Player

Before I was really into basketball I played the sport from time to time at school with my friends, but I never had a sport at the time that I was really into. I played soccer, basketball, baseball, and a lot of other sport. None of them made me a want to pursue it and get better at it. I remember my mom was always into basketball and she told me to watch them with her. During those moments my mom told me the rules, how to play the game, and the importance of team work. She pointed out that you are not able to score it all the players are not playing in sync. From those moments on basketball because that sport that I was into. I went home as fast as I could to tell my parents and they congratulated me for making the team since they knew that I wanted to be part of it since the previous year. The next day was one of the worst days in high school and the most negative memory associated with the sport. That day I ran into the coach and I asked him when practices were going to start because I wanted to be ready for them. The coach told me that unfortunately that day he received message from the principal stating that due to budget cuts that the entire junior varsity team was going to be removed leaving only the varsity. When he said that it was a crushing blow, because in an instant I was off the team, I just made the team and now I was off. The news impacted me greatly and after that moment I didn’t play basketball for a few months. I had put in so much work practicing to see it go to waste.
