As the bus was going through a rocky road, I woke up so suddenly I was disoriented and my whole body felt stiff from the 6 going on 7 hours of being in the same uncomfortable bus seat. I looked around and saw everyone was still sleeping and I thought to myself “I wish I were in Miami right now”. It was the first week of summer and I was disappointed i wasn’t spending it with my close friends back home, instead of this diverse group of students from my school. After a couple more hours of sleeping on the bus, we finally arrived to the Campo which was in the middle of pure nature...no buildings or restaurants for miles and miles. Everything was so different from back home and I was so in shock that I tried to call my mom to tell her all about it, but my calls kept failing because there was absolutely no service where we were. The whole group realized there was no signal so we all sat in a circle to play cards and no one was being distracted by their phones which was really amazing for kids our age… As we were laughing at one of Maikel's jokes, we hear people coming into the church, so we all stand up to see what was going on. We were surprised by the people living in the village with their native songs and dances.
