Personal Narrative: My Love Of Golf

Everything is quiet, except the sounds of nature and the thoughts in the head of the player approaching the tee box. Looking out to the first hole she sees the trees and hills and tries to visualize where she needs to hit the ball. As she leans over to put the tee in the ground, she focuses on one goal; to get the ball in the hole. She puts the ball on the tee, stands up, and approaches the ball with the club. Hoping that she will hit the ball straight, she slowly brings the club back and swings. When the club strikes the ball, it goes perfectly down the center of the fairway. At this moment she realizes why she loves the game.
Stepping out on the course for the first time was intimidating, I had never been to a golf course before. There were people there I had never met before, and this experience was completely new to me. I was put into a group with a few other girls and we started the game. Watching the other girls tee off, I saw their passion and love for the game, and I wanted to strive for that passion they had. I have learned that even if I have a bad round of golf, I can turn things around for myself and have a better attitude, which makes the good days even more enjoyable. Those bad games have taught me to take what I have done wrong and learn from those experiences to better my game next time. Nobody is perfect, therefore it is fine to mess up, especially if the mess up is stepping out and trying something new. Life is about the willingness to attempt new things and even if it fails, the effort is still something to be proud of. The next step after failing is to keep trying until you succeed. Even the greatest golfers failed countless times to achieve where they are
