It has been an honor and a privilege to be the daughter of Mrs. Charlotte Harris Stovall. I am blessed knowing that God chose her as the vessel to give me life.
My mother was so many things to so many others. She was always teaching in her gentle approachable way. She showed love to everyone that crossed her path with a smile.
Mom taught me how to treat others with kindness and respect to the least of us. She shared morsels of wisdom often… quoting verses from the bible such as “for wisdom is greater than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it”.
Wisdom like the friends you make are only as good as the friend that you are to them…to have a friend you must first be a friend. Never let someone else be nicer to you than you are to them.

They demonstrated how a loving, and caring relationship of give and take works. Mom enjoyed being a wife and mother and made it look effortless together nearly 50 years.
She instructed me to be careful with my words and made sure that my vocabulary was energized so that I had options of word choice.
She taught me to be careful with my thinking because as the bible says “For as he thinketh in his heart so is he”.
Mom cooked almost every day for us growing up. We would have a snack after school and then wait for Dad to get home before we sat at the table as a family for dinner. I will miss that time with Mom most. Every meal was special because that is where I learned the greatest. The importance of etiquette, owning property, the dos and don’ts at school and work, family history, saving money (compounded interest), how to pray, how to navigate difficult people and so much more…simply by eating together at the table.
She also taught the importance of family and drilled in that closeness is paramount.
My mother had such style and grace. She was a classic genteel
