Personal Narrative: My Stay At Cancun, Mexico

The sun was rising over the horizon, reflecting a pink and orange color across the sea. It was the last day of my stay at Cancun, Mexico. I was strolling across the beach, walking through the softest sand that felt like a bed of blankets. Near the shore, laid countless of colorful seashells waiting to be collected. As I walked, I took a deep breath and breathed in the fresh air of Cancun, smelling the salty sea. The waves were calmly crashing ashore as if they were waving at me good morning. The seagulls were already soaring through the sky in a flock, above the shimmering ocean. My mom was sitting at one of the royal blue colored chaise lounges, under a messy straw umbrella that was rowed neatly along the beach, placing sunscreen on herself. I sat on the chair beside her. It started to get warmer as the golden rays gently streamed through the narrow openings of the clouds. The clouds that were marbled white with a hint of a dove gray color underneath started to gradually diminish and eventually all was left was an azure blanket of the sky. Families and couples started to come out of the humongous Moon Palace hotel to enjoy one of the most toured beaches in Mexico. Soon, the beach was filled. Multicolored beach balls were thrown around. Some kids were splashing in the aqua crystal clear water, the water glistening on their honeyed brown, tan skin. Other kids were scooping up grains of soft white sand and creatively building with their inventive idea. The teenagers would competitively play volleyball with each other, harshly hitting the white and red colored volleyball to one another, with sweat dripping down their bright red rosy cheeks and body.
