Personal Narrative: My Struggle With Writing

Writing always varies with me, sometimes I am suffused with ideas and then other times I can’t even come up with a topic. Louis L’Amour once said, “Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on.” I believe this short quote explains my style of writing. My struggle with writing started when I was younger. I never had the capability to put my ideas onto paper, this was mostly because I struggled with grammar and sentence structure. I hated falling behind, I would see the other kids being able to write paragraphs while I am still on my first sentence. Writing is very important for whatever you do, it consists in all jobs. Sometimes it is just simply sending an email, or it could be writing the most important paper in your whole career. Eventually I’m going to try to become a Physician Assistant or Physical Therapist so my job will consist of writing reports, my own practices, and any other little things. My first taste of receiving opportunities was at the news station. I was nervous because I had no idea what was happening at the time. There were little kids running everywhere and huge video cameras placed among the news station. They started to announce winners of all different age groups. I just wanted them to finish so I could go home and play. They eventually got to my age and I had no idea on what was going to happen next. They started to announce the fifth and fourth place winners and then they got to third, that was when I heard my name. I froze for a second because I didn’t know what was happening. My mom looked over to me as that happened, a few seconds later it hit me to go and claim the prize. I got up and started walking toward the stage, I was so nervous that I almost tripped from shaking so bad. It wasn’t as terrible as I thought, I took a photo with an individual I don’t even know and they gave a reward and a letter.
