Imagine you are in your room, listening to your mom and dad fighting, throwing things at each other from across the room. You know that their anger is heading towards you, and you know that you are going to have to hide the bruises from your friends at school. Your door opens but this time it’s not daddy coming to get you, it's a police officer. He comes and picks you up and tells you that he’s taking you somewhere safe. You see your teddy laying there on the floor, and you try to reach it but there’s no time. “I can’t remember anything about that day except that I was crawling into the back seat of a stranger’s car and staying as far back as I could get away from them. I remember feeling scared and thinking that I was in trouble. I remember the sinking feeling of abandonment” (Edler). …show more content…
Every week, 60,000 children are reported to be abused, with a total of 900,000 confirmations of violence every year. Most of these innocent children are forced to go to foster cares, where their childhood, dreams, and future feel destroyed (Moulen). My Stuff Bags helps those children recover that loss. My Stuff Bags is a wonderful charity that provides kids of all ages with bags filled with books, toys, and other essentials to give children new hope that someone actually cares about their well being. The bags and things inside them are homemade from people around the country who want to help children who feel abandoned. My Stuff bags is a helpful charity because it gives kids something to hold on to and love, and gets the community involved in helping kids have a brighter and happier
