Personal Narrative: My Success In A Basketball Team

Going in to high school it was always my dream to play varsity basketball like my sister. I have always looked up to her when I comes to sports. She works hard and is a very good leader. In my family sports are very serious and my dad has always pushed us to be are best. When season came it was my turn to be the best I can be. I could imagine the first game, walking into the gym, fans cheering and music playing. Adrenaline pumping as the other team walks on to the floor. I was so excited to be part of the team. I played JV my freshman and sophomore year. Then junior year came up. The season I could take my chance to make the team and put my skills to the test. I tried out and worked as hard as I could. We were doing good the first half but then, we went down. We ended up losing and ending the season. It was very hard to see these seniors play their last game in Skutt jerseys and my last time playing with them. Some of them I have been playing with before high school. I also had this thought of this will be me next year. I wasn’t ready to think about my senior year. Summer came which means summer ball comes too. I remember the first practice, Coach Plum came up to the four seniors and gave us a speech. The speech was about how we need to be the leaders to the younger players That everyone is looking up to us to work hard and to show them how to do the drills. He also said to have fun one last time and to appreciate this year. This summer I have never felt so good about my basketball skills and my improvement. I played my hard this summer and I proved myself to my coaches and teammates. This summer during tournaments I started every game and got lots of playing time. My coach told me to expect a lot mor splaying time this season and to be ready to work. Hearing this news, I have never been more excited to play my last year of
