Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome. Anxiety isn’t just something that is easy to deal with or something to get over. Not everyone faces anxiety, but face hard times and deal with it differently. Going to college as a first-time student is a hard transition, if you have never taken a course in high school that you had to give your full attention towards even with taking many other courses. College classes have much more expectations for their class than your typical high school class. My transition from high school to college had a really hard toll on me because I never thought it would give me this many problems from the very first day until the last day of the term. She discusses how these incompatibilities emerge. She claims that professors may falsely interpret a student’s motivation due to the fact that their learning style differs from the norm. If a student does not take the initiative to ask a professor questions. The professor may deem the student as ill-motivated. When I first began taking college courses at Norco College, my professors intimidated me, causing me to not take the initiative to ask questions when I was confused. I was not an unmotivated student, I merely was too scared to ask questions due to the sense of intimidation I received from my professors. I was always afraid of my professors and I couldn’t interact with any of them due to the fear of saying something incorrect or being labeled by them.
