Personal Narrative: My Trip To Dallas

I have mentioned it a time or two that I will travel for food and I'm not ashamed to say that traveling for food led me to the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, TX. The weekend, I was able to visit this beautiful property was the weekend of Savor Dallas so of course I had to head to D-town.

Being that Dallas is only two and one half hours away from Shreveport, I've visited countless amounts of times but in all of those times, I had never seen Hilton Anatole before. Now that I have been there, I feel like I need to re-evaluate what I have been doing with my life every time I've needed a hotel in Dallas. From this point forward, I will do better.

Hilton Anatole has the largest hotel art collection in the US with over 1,000 pieces. With a heavy Asian influence, there are marble sculptures of Gandhi, Buddha, Foo Dogs, paintings of monks, elephants, and more. There's a kinetic sculpture on the property and even two pieces of the Berlin Wall. THE. BERLIN. WALL.

SIDE BAR: When we were taking selfies in front of the Berlin Wall, an employee named Ramona came over to talk to us. Ramona has to be one of the friendliest hotel employees I have ever met. She offered to take our picture, she took us BEHIND the Berlin Wall pieces to explain it to us and then she told us about how much she enjoyed working at the Hilton Anatole. She disclosed that she had been there since 1975! That is 31 years! She reflected on the property when it was just a smaller hotel, the construction that made it a CAMPUS, the former area with live peacocks, and now the new construction. Ramona takes pride in her job and genuinely loves it there. With the beauty of the property and employees like Ramona, I too loved it
