Personal Narrative: My Trip To Illinois

What did I do this summer? This summer, I traveled to a lot of different places; Kentucky, Illinois, Indianapolis, but the place where I had the most fun was in Illinois. My aunt and uncle both live between Mahomet, Illinois and Champagne, along with my two younger cousins who are being adopted next year.

I had just returned from Kentucky a few weeks earlier when my mom told me that we were going to travel to Illinois. We were planning on going for my cousins Bailee and Sarah’s birthday party. That was a Sunday, and after begging and begging (and a few tears) my mom miraculously agreed to let me stay there with my aunt until Tuesday. Sadly, I didn’t bring anything with me except my Ipod touch, (which was dead), my Kindle (which was almost dead, thanks to my cousin, Zoe) and my book, “If I Stay” (which was already finished and sitting in the car.)

My aunt had to take my cousin LeShon to therapy and she left VerShon home with just my grandma and I. I played Lego Batman on the XBox with him and repeatedly dodged the question of, “You gonna go swimming now?” a hundred times, occasionally answering it until my aunt came home. I wanted to swim, but I wanted my aunt home to swim with us before I went swimming. Plus, I loved playing with Bailee and laying with her on the couch inside.
