Personal Narrative: My Visit To The Carnegie Museum

I visited the Carnegie Museum of Art and Museum of Natural History. I began my visit at the dinosaur exhibit in natural history portion of the museum. I had never seen dinosaur fossils or skeletons before so I was quite impressed with this exhibit. I found it hard to believe that those dinosaurs were once real and that they were actually that massive. Next, I moved through the different animal rooms and saw many staged scenes that really captured real life. After this, I moved over to the art side of the museum. First, I walked through the ancient art exhibits and saw many things that we had talked about in class, like the ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses. Next, I went to the Museum of Modern Art. After this, I was excited to see the contemporary art, as I knew I would appreciate this section quite a bit more. There is so many awesome painting in this section that it took me awhile to move through it. Out of all the painting I saw, three stuck out to me. The first is one of Claude Monet Water Lilies. Initially, I was standing directly in front of the painting, very close and could see all the details. But, as I walked through the room and looked back at the painting it looked completely different. I was amazed by this, how a slight difference in perspective could change the piece entirely. The next painting was Vincent Van Gogh’s Wheat Fields after the Rain. I really liked the use of color and texture in this painting. The final painting was Georgia O'Keeffe’s Gate of Adobe Church. Georgia O'Keeffe is one of my favorite artists, so I was excited to see one of her pieces on display. Lastly, I visited the Hall of Sculpture and Hall of Architecture. In the Hall of Architecture, there are many beautiful structures that seem almost impossible to have been created so long
