Personal Narrative: My Wiccan Religion

My religion is seen as socially unacceptable and it was tough to come out to my family and friends. It began when I was in the first grade, when I was introduced to Paganism and Wicca. A girl in my class was raised in a Wiccan family and she was open to her classmates regarding it. They bullied her, yet I thought she was interesting. Soon we became friends, we talked about her religion and it led to meeting her family. I was raised in a strict Baptist family and deciding to learn about another religion would have been upsetting to my parents. I had a calling to learning about Wicca and have another understanding of the world. Before long I began practicing it myself, I had pledged to become Wiccan.
