Throughout the first half of my high school career, I definitely would describe myself as a follower. I went along with whatever my friends did just to try to “fit in”. This all changed as I entered my junior year of high school. One day at field hockey practice, a few senior girls invited some of my friends and I to a party that they were having that night. I knew that there would be alcohol there and I knew it was not a good idea. Most of my friends were excited to be invited to a party with the “cool seniors” and accepted immediately. The decision was hard for me. I knew I would be disappointing my family, my coach and many other important people in my life.
