Many people assume that there is no defense in golf. After all, you are competing for yourself by trying to limit the number of strokes you use on every hole. On the other hand, some believe that there is defense in golf — course architects purposefully place hazards to challenge players. However, I believe that the defense in this sport is found within every person. Golf is a mental game; I have to be totally committed before I attempt a shot. If I have any sense of doubt, I will most likely make a bad swing and hit an errant shot. Therefore, I believe my experience in this sport has proved to be important in all aspects of life.
