Personal Narrative: Nueva Vista High School

I was first introduced to Nueva Vista High School by my old counselor because I was way behind on my credits for junior year. I decided to attend Nueva because I wanted another chance at graduating on time with my friends and most importantly, my big sister. I didn't want to be the person in high school that didn't graduate, not because they didn’t try or they weren't smart, but because they were lazy and didn’t feel like doing the work and turning it in or participating in school activities. I wanted to get it over with and be able to start college already, but I really didn't put in the work to show it. Being told that I had to go to a continuation school made me realize that I needed to get my act together and do the things I needed to do to actually act on what I wanted.

Nuevas teachers care about the students so much, even if it's just listening to the students talk, having interesting conversations or even just laughing at a very corny joke to show that they care about us. Now I can say that not everything is good over at this school because there could be some renovations to the way some of the teachers' supervisors act. Some of the teachers have favorites that they very clearly make out. Not all teachers do this, mostly the teachers who hunt down a student because they missed the first few minutes of class. There are many pros and cons about coming to Nueva, but I’m pretty sure I got the hang of it. I came to Nuvea with 84.4 credits from 9th, 10th and some of 11th and I was able to jump to 177.2 in the span of 1 year than what I did at my old school. It would have taken me a whole year before I could even think about graduating. Taking the classes that I took my 9th and 10th grade year over again I felt like I was
