One Night at the Track, One Dream Realized Racing has always been my life. I grew up around it for years. My childhood included yearly trips to the racetrack and different race shops. Considering all of this, it is no surprise that my academic career is based on how I can best succeed in the world of motorsports. My plan is to go into the field of mechanical engineering, which is a great degree to have when going into racing. I actually did a narrative solely on the experience I had at the race. I have also done many other research papers, a number of them involving sports in some way. In my career choice, I will not being doing a ton of writing. I will definitely have to write a great deal in college on my way to getting my mechanical engineering degree in college. However, being a crew chief does not involve a lot of writing. Most of the writing I will be doing in my career includes things like diagrams and short notes. Diagrams will be used a lot when talking about the racecar. A crew chief might draw a diagram showing what needs to be changed on the car to make it faster. The crew chief may then write some notes out to the side on how he wants the adjustment made or other things like that. Most notes will be on the setup of the car and how it is running. Other types of notes may include ones on strategy (fuel consumption, tire wear, etc.). I have done many types of written papers and research assignments/papers, but will not use many of these skills in my career
