Personal Narrative: Overcoming My Fear Of Softball

We were all afraid of something as a kid, and some of us had to conquer their fear. I was one of those people at the age of ten I had to conquer my fear of playing softball. As a kid I played T-ball and that’s nothing like softball. I was afraid about playing because I hadn’t played in a while, and hopefully that would change.
Beginning this conquer was when my family and I moved to Texas, and I needed something to do on my off time. My dad went searching for a place to play and we got here just in time for their summer league. That second week we were here was when tryouts were. Knowing I was about to go face my fear was terrifying. On the other hand it was important for me to do it, not just to face my fear but I found something I loved to do.
The time finally came to head to tryouts at the "KGSA" fields. When I arrived I was nervous yet determined to go and do this. When I got to the field I was surrounded by girls and the coaches of the league. Starting the tryouts was running and stretching, following that was throwing. Going into the dugout to pack all of my equipment up I finally got to get a drink. That water was refreshing since it had been a while from having a drink. Being the end of tryouts we got to leave. The coaches told us that they would contact us if we made the team, and the head manager of the foundation would contact us if we didn’t make it. As I was heading out to my car one of the coaches stopped and to let me know that he loved my performance and that I would most likely be on his team if no one else took me. Two weeks later my dad got a call from the coach that talked to me saying I made his team. When I was told I felt accomplished for what I had done. I am glad I conquered my fear because to this day I have played softball and I still will later on in life
