I started by drawing out a carefully thought out plan. Piece by piece my project was coming together. I had to pace myself because I knew that it wasn't a one day project or even a week project. There were many times that I just wanted to give up and that I didn’t believe in myself.
Eventually, I glued pieces together to make the floor then the front and the back. I paused before glueing on the doors. I didn't just want doors to my car, I wanted doors that I could actually swing open and shut. I realized that if I cut a wire hanger and glued it to the roof of the car and the bottom to the floor, I could attach the door and it would swing freely. All and all, I was able to make four doors that were able to open and close.
I advanced even further as to make wheels and axles so that my car could actually roll. I still vividly remember that great feeling as I saw my creation roll across the kitchen floor. In that moment, my car, even though a little boxy looking, made me realize that I love to create, make, and design things. I went on to find other passions such as creating things out of popsicle sticks, sewing, and much more. Engineering then became my dream and goal.
