Personal Narrative: Steffahn

When I came home from the hospital, after being born, I met my mentor. His name is Steffahn Maclin. He use to live right up the street from my house. Steffahn was outgoing, fun-loving, and very hyper, which I admired. He would dance and sing at the top of his lungs all around our house. Steffahn always made me feel like I could do whatever I wanted. I share the same qualities as him such as, being extremely hyper and fun-loving. The one quality that I lacked was being outgoing. I was shy and needed someone who would push me outside my comfort zone. That someone was Steffahn Maclin. Steffahn and I were like brother and sister. He always came over and entertained my family. I remember when he use to sing and dance all around our house and soon enough I joined in. My parents like to call me mini Steffahn because I act the same way as him. Even now, when he comes over, he does the same things. But unfortunately I don’t see him as often as in the past. He has recently moved to New York to follow his dreams of performing arts. While he is there, he takes several dance classes to improve his technique. When Steffahn was younger, he would always tell us that he wanted to become famous. We even have a note that he wrote saying, ‘Keep this note so that when I become famous you can sell this on eBay.’ Steffahn has been a huge …show more content…
I wouldn’t be the person I am today without him. Currently, Steffahn is living in New York, but we are still super close. He still brightens up my house everytime he comes over. We have gone through everything together and Steffahn has taught me so much about life and myself. I’ve learned that in order to truly enjoy my life, I need to strive towards what I really want to do.That means, not letting other factors in my life distract me from working hard for my dream. My mentor gave me the courage to conquer my inhibitions. I am who I am today because of Steffahn
