Personal Narrative: The Aztecias Disease

I wake up. My head throbs. The sun sun shines through the blinds. I rub my eyes, then blink them a couple times. As I get out of my bed, my foot lands awkwardly, and I fall. I yell. My mom and dad come rushing into my room, but through my eyes, they are just blurs. I wake up. I am in the car. I ask where we are driving. No answers. My ankle feels heavy. I look down and a see it has swollen as big as a orange. I am in shock, and it hurts just to look at it. My mind is a whirlwind as I start to grasp and open my questions one by one. Now, we pull into a hospital parking lot.
As we step in, I get rushed to the emergency room. As I try to get comfortable, the doctor rushes around like a madman. As he picks up a huge needle, I try to relax.

Our pantry is getting skinnier by the day. ‘Looks like chicken noodle soup for dinner tonight.’ The news is on once again, and they my parents are watching it, to get updates on the Aztecias disease. Finally, the news almost yells out, “Breaking News”
“Vaccinations on the Aztecias disease have been slimming down by a number of 5,000 vaccinations a day. Meaning that, 5,000 are cured each day. But yet, the vaccinations are projected to run out in eight days.” The reporter says.
My mom blurts out, “That’s horrible! How are they suppose to survive? If we get the disease, how are we supposed to survive?”
“This could get bad, this could get really bad.” My dad says quietly.
I can’t believe it. ‘Even though I already was vaccinated and can’t get it again, my friends and family could get the disease and die. How is that good? It’s really not.’
As I quietly eat my dinner, I overhear my parents talking. They say,
“What if we get the disease? We have to set up arrangements for Ashton.” My mom says.
“What about Colin? He could take care of him.” My dad suggests. The name sounds familiar.
“Ya. He could. We will set up arrangements on Saturday.” My mom sounds

I burst out the front door and hug my mom and dad. They get straight to business.
“We’ll have to leave right away to get to Marsh Island.” My dad says.
“Okay.” I reply. I don’t even know where that is, but it’ll probably be fine.
So we gathered all of our stuff and pretty much abandoned our house. News traveled fast. Because they were now saying that the diseased were spreading out now. When we started to trek through the swamp, watching out for gators and water moccasins. We live close to the coast, about five miles away.
Once we reach the coast, we go straight to the boat docks. We easily get our boat, and take off, towards the island. On the way, we talk of the plan. Every day we’ll hunt and gather, retrieve stuff from the mainland, and we’ll get water.
We get there at about noon. We agree to talk about the next day once we set up camp. But once we set up camp for the night, we all instantly fall asleep.
In the morning, we all eat fish and clams for breakfast. And as we do this, my mom and dad bring up that they can look for supplies back on the mainland. Me and Colin say that they can, but only for the day. So once my mom and dad get on the boat, me and Colin are left
