Personal Narrative: The Easiest Thing In Football

There are some things that we see and think how easy it must be to do that. Looking from a distance it looks like kicking a football is the easiest thing in football. I can guarantee that most people can not do it . Every kick must be perfect, there are no warm up kicks, you are given one chance each time you step onto the field. In some cases the whole game can come down to if someone can kick a ball through two poles. During my junior year I was the varsity kicker and this was my third year kicking. I showed up to more practices than an average kicker normally would. I put in a lot of time in the weight room and I even would go home and practice kicking after working out. At this point I was on the right track. That was until my soccer season started up and only allowed me to go to one or two practices a week. I was missing easy field goals and kicking my kick offs out of bounds most of the time. I started to become frustrated and so was my coach. At one point my coach would just make our whole team run if I missed a field goal in practice. I would leave practice angry at myself and I started to doubt if I should even continue to play football. I normally never had an issue when it came to sports, I usually picked up everything I was taught. This would be the first time that I was truly failing at a sport. I ended up sitting back and analyzing what could be the issue and then I found it. The first three weeks I only came to about one maybe two practices a week.
