Personal Narrative: The Girl Who Turned Down

There was once a little girl who grew up in the slums of San Diego. Her name was Millie Griffin. Her dad was a gas station cashier. Her mom was a baker. But when her home town Olympian, Katie Adams, an Olympic slopestyle skier came home after winning two gold medals in the Olympics, their family had to go to the parade. She brought her favorite sweatshirt to the parade, just in case Katie Adams could sign it. So they got in their white 2001 sedan, and drove off to the parade. Due to traffic it took about 15 minutes to get to the parade. When they got there, there were thousands of people who wanted to see the gold medalist, too! Millie asked her mom to see if she could sneak through the crowd to get to the front lines of the parade, her mom said yes. So she squirmed to the front through the many bodies in the crowd. When she got to the front of the crowd she was just in time! The float was coming her way about a block down the street! There was the great Katie Adams strutting down the street signing autographs. Then when she got to her Katie Adams stared at her for a second then grabbed her sweatshirt and signed it. Then she said good luck and walked away. Millie was practicing for the Olympic team. Than after 100 feet down the slope, she flew off a jump and did Katie Adams’ signature move, “the cork seven.” When she got to the bottom she saw a man dressed in a suit. So she decided to respect this man and listen to what he had to sayd. He said she had a nice run on the ski hill. Then he invited her to the Olympic ski team! She was so excited that she fell over! So she had to train for the 2022 Olympics! When she got back home she told her mom and dad and they were really proud of her! She decided she had to hire a ski coach for the next few years to train her how to ski in slopestyle. 4 years
