Personal Narrative: The Gymnastic Team

Samantha looked out to the crowd of tiny people that was slowly getting bigger in the large stadium. Her were hands were sweaty and her heart was racing very quickly as she stared at the blue floors and red mats. Samantha was at the 18th Annual Girls’ Gymnastic Competition of Wisconsin. Samantha felt a comforting hand on her shoulders. “Sam it’s going to be alright,” Samantha’s mother had said in a quiet, soothing tone. “You have been training all your life for this. You are going to do just fine.”
“Thanks mom,” Sam said.
“Now go meet up with your team. I have to go to my seat in the stadium. Make me proud,” her mom had exclaimed.
“Hey Samantha, you finally came. We are going to do some practice before the competition starts. Ready?” Alley, Samantha’s team member and her best friend, asked while she was sitting on a small, black bench that rested on the side of a wall.
Alley is the star player on the gymnastic team. She has short blonde, and she is very athletic. Not only is she great at gymnastic, she is also super kind and friendly. Samantha and Alley were very close as best friends. They have known each other for a very long time.
“I’m ready,” Samantha smiled happily. “Where’s the rest of the team?”

There were three young girls each practicing something different. The coach was reviewing over a few techniques with Sophie, a gymnast on the team. Sophie was jumping from bar to bar and doing complicated tricks like a monkey would.
