Personal Narrative: The Horse Seabiscuit

Pairing a horse with a jockey it seems easy but in the case of the horse Seabiscuit it wasn’t that easy. Jockeys couldn’t approach him easily even one of them got bite by the horse. There was an old jockey who needed a job, when he went up to Seabiscuit, you could see the connection when Red gave him the sugar cube he nuzzled his shoulder. Since that day, Red has found his horse.

Red was blind from his right eye, he got smashed his legs while riding an other horse and got told that he couldn’t ride again. Seabiscuit got an torn ligament and for horses you never come back from that. Both of them got stronger together, they prove people that they were wrong. They tried 3 times the race at Santa Anita. They lost the 2 first time. The third time they went, they were the underdogs because of what they been through. In the final stretch of the race, they were in third place but at the finish line they finished first.

That year they removed 2 passes for the teams to go at that tournament so because of that we didn’t go but the 2 passes was to make 2 pick up teams. It was the best players in Quebec that wasn’t going at the tournament originally. We arrived in Quebec city and we had one practice with the whole team so we was the underdog team for the tournament and we faced one of the biggest team of the tournament and we won 4-1 so we faced the winning team of that tournament that year so we obviously lost against them but as an underdog team we bumped out one of the biggest team at that tournament.

Finally, everyone in his life is going to be the underdog, in the case of Jason McElwain, he seized the moment and made it the best moment of his life and one he will always remember. For Seabiscuit and Red they were the underdogs because of their injuries and they pushed each other to prove them that they weren’t the underdog and they came to
