Personal Narrative: The Progression Of Music

Music is an incredible feat of human nature, as sounds that we are able to hear everywhere are able to completely change our psychological state. From hearing an African drum thump making your heart race to hearing a slow methodical piano ballad aiding with a period of sadness. The influence and power in that music encompassses is unimaginable. The music that we listen to today would not have been possible without true geniuses contributing. The progression of music can be attributed to hundreds of different figures, but I will fixate on five of my favorite figures. In which all are able to directly relate to the progression of music. Which in comparison 100s of years ago we never even believed that people could have samplers, synthesizers, virtual instruments, and a scientific understanding of how music works but not only the creation of such is a feat within itself. Such as the power of rhythm, something that is encoded within us as humans. If we start listening to any part of music there is a “logic of the senses.” Something that immediately tells us whether something is off key. We don’t even think about it. Music that has the kick drum or the hi hats a little too late or a little too early we subconsciously process that information into dis-liking this song. He also recalls how a piece of art can cause such an emotional change within a person. A slow piano ballad can create a “hysteria” something that other facets of life can only attempt to do. So these scaling and instruments that we use and develop need to create those feelings. Feelings that cannot be explained with words. Your first concert, your first kiss, your first love draw from this feeling and rhythm that only you yourself can and will
