Personal Narrative: The Sport Of Soccer

Everyone has something they are passionate about, in my case the only thing I was ever passionate about was the game of soccer. At the age of four my mother signed me up to play soccer to channel all my energy into something. High school came around the corner and I earned a spot on the varsity team my sophomore year. I loved every second of it, practice every day, playing at such a high skill level, I was exactly where I wanted to be. Junior year was even better as we made it to our state sectional final, that rush is something I will never relive. Spring of junior year is when all of my years of playing were cut short. Spring soccer was a activity I pursued in order to stay in shape for the upcoming high school seasons. Little did I know that one day at a practice I had an undesirable fate. I was going in on tackles and shooting goals, until I went for a shot and before my foot made contact with the ball a loud “pop” echoed off the walls of the rink. Practice ended early on my account and when I got home I refused to go the hospital. I spent a month on crutches waiting for the swelling to go down so that I could see the doctor. My first day and the first cut I made my leg gave out and swole up again. Missing the first 11 games of my senior season brought about so much pain. But as a member of that family I sat through it all, helping in anyway I could. Every practice I would sit out and encourage my fellow teammates to better themselves. When I was finally cleared to play I would go 110% at practices to prove I was ready for the field. It was a regular season game and although I did not start, fifteen minutes into the game the coach put me in. As I stepped on the field every parent was cheering for me out of happiness that I was back. As I went in for my first tackle my leg gave out, and the pain process began all over
