Personal Narrative: Track And Field

Dedication are some of the most important aspects of my life. When I start doing something, no matter what it is, I have to complete it to the best of my ability and will not stop until it is completed successfully and to my satisfaction. Two things I am truly dedicated in are Track and Field, and helping children out at a summer camp.

Track and Field is my favorite sport, it also just so happens that I am good at the hurdles and jumps. I have been competing in Track and Field since my sixth grade year; completing six school seasons and three club seasons. I also plan to compete for both my high school and my track club this year as well; eleven complete seasons in total. I love running and jumping and can find any way to do what I love. YMCA Camp Terry was a summer camp that I attended when I was a child, starting in the second grade. It helped me become the friendly, fun-loving, social person I am today. When I was too old to go to the camp, I volunteered there up until I could work there. I learned all of the activities when I was a child and was able to help the campers learn them even better due to my, almost, expert understanding of the activities: Archery, Rock Wall, Arts and Crafts, River School, Various Games, etc. I was able to help the campers even more because I was, at one point, standing where they stood and looking up at the person whos sole duty was to help me accomplish my goal of that activity. After a while, I did not even need anyone to help me; the counselors did such a wonderful job that it inspired me help the campers out in the same way that my counselors helped me learn. This camp shaped the person who I am today so it was my honor to help shape the other campers lives, hopefully for the
