Now what if I said that I once hated Track and Field, until I started doing the sport. I thought it was a useless sport and I finally gave the sport a try. I did so in the seventh grade and I have loved it ever since. I was the kid that didn’t know what form was or that u needed stamina and can get injured by dehydration. I was and still am a middle distance runner which is running the 400 meters and 800 meters. When I won my first medal, I knew at that moment that track was now in my life forever, and it can’t be taken away from me. It has changed my life for the better if it wasn’t for track and field I wouldn’t be the person I am today.
When I ran my first race, I was scared of how I was going to do and how my teammates saw what I was going to be trash or good. When I saw people I was running against and thought to myself that I couldn’t win until I remembered what coach was saying in practice and it calmed me down. I stared down my competition and ran until I couldn’t anymore. I finished in the top 5 which was good but I wanted to be at the top. Now in High school, I have found my strave this year and hope to win the state meet this year. He made us do 40 100m dash in under 12 seconds and a one minute break after each rep. I have never in my life ever felt that much pain by running. We from now on take every practice like it’s a track meet. At one of the track meets we were down in the standings and coach gave us a pep talk about how we need to get in gear and book it no matter what happens. At that moment we gained our courage back to run and we took third place out of the whole meet and we were happy. That is what my story was about my life with track and field and it is an experience, I can’t live without it at
