Around the Thanksgiving table, a few years ago was the first time I ever heard the words “Training Champions for Christ”. My cousin was home from her first semester at Liberty sharing her joy with the whole family and as I listened enviously, I wondered, why can't my school be like that? A place where you are surrounded by people of faith, living a life that is pleasing to God. In public school, we learned about World religions in fifth grade and I recall coming home very upset and confused because some of my classmates said they were Atheists. How could they not believe in God? He saved us from our sins! My mother explained that they were only children, they didn't even know what an Atheist was. Sadly, their parents must have told them…show more content… This is what the most important leaders in their lives had taught them. Proverbs 22:6 tells us, “Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older they will not leave it.” I have been raised by parents who brought me to church, taught me God loved me and put me on the right path. When I attended College For A Weekend this September, I felt in my heart that God was calling me to this path. For me to strengthen my personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and to fulfill my potential as a Christ-centered leader, Liberty University is the school where I need to be. I long so much to grow in my faith, and I believe that Liberty’s ways and values will help guide and prepare me to go out into the world to love and serve others in the name of Jesus Christ. I intend to major in education and will absolutely lead my children, and if it is in God’s plan, my future students, on the right path. From the moment I entered my very first classroom, I have loved everything about going to school, especially my teachers and how they made me feel. I would be truly blessed to be able to contribute to Liberty’s mission to impact tomorrow’s world by becoming a Christ-centered teacher, leading children on the right path, wherever it is God’s will that I serve
