the gentlemen I had gotten to know over the summer. I had to have multiple questions and topics ready to discuss as the weekend was packed with media and we were under tight constraints to get the audio up to the producers of the postgame show. The ability to find parts of the game and ask a question to help the fans understand why that play happened was important as well was a big part of taking the next step in my interviewing of the summer. I entered the Pirates locker room after interviewing Clint Hurdle and it was a mad rush. The players had to leave for St. Louis so it was getting the interview I needed quickly. I got to learn about what it is like to cover a team and follow the season along, while also learning the daily routines and all the small intricacies that go into being a member of the media. Some challenges I faced were early on including the lack of some things to do on the morning show, but as I gained more experience and was given more responsibility, I was able to get more opportunities to do interviews while still learning how to ask better questions and looking for follow ups.
