Personal Narrative-Vehiclular Problem

“Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?” How do I react to adversity during troubling times? Recently, I have been faced with an overwhelming vehiclular problem. Throughout this problem I have felt all three overcoming stages; a carrot, an egg, and a coffee bean. As I was riding home from work one day in my 1992 Jeep Wrangler, I noticed a slight stumble in the engine. I didn’t think much of it at first, but I still told my dad and parked the vehicle until we had time to fix the problem. We started working on it shortly after it was parked, by replacing small parts that could cause the problem such as stumbling. We soon came to the realization that the issue was not as simple as we had thought to start out with. Therefore after seeing my Jeep parked out in the yard for over two weeks, I began to get disheartened and hopeless, that the problem that has occured may not be fixable. …show more content…
However, not only did I begin to gain my hope back, I changed my mindset as well. I was no longer gonna allow this problem to get the best of me and continue to bring me down. I was turning into and egg, allowing my feelings to harden up and block out any negativity from bringing my hopes down again. As the same issue continued to buckle my mind along with my dad’s mind, I continued to ignore the negative thoughts and ignore any signs of bad chances of fixing the problem. However my thoughts alone could not counteract the fact that the Jeep continued to sit there following my hardened up
