Personal Narrative: When Ashley Walked Into The Classroom

This setting is all too familiar, it seems just like yesterday when Ashley walked into a classroom for the first time in over thirteen years. Her English teacher was standing there with a wicked smile on her face as if she was already having a bad day. Upon entry Ashley smiled and said,

" good morning" and Mrs. Jones replied. Ashley took the seat closest to the instructor desk because she did not want to be distracted by the other students. All she wanted to do was learn and pass the class with flying colors. It was her second time in the same class and emotions were running high.

Mrs. Jones begin to explain to the classroom what she expected them to have mastered by the end of the semester. After listening carefully to her demands, Ashley begin to doubt herself and wondered if she should continue to stay in the class. Because she knew her weaknesses, strengths and struggle when it came down to writing. Writing for her was like having a tooth pulled; it was easier said than done. Thinking of words to say was not one of her weaknesses. Instead it was things such as using the word you, I, me, comma splices and sentence fragments just to name a
