Personal Narrative: Why I Love Skiing

In eighth grade my friends told me about snow skiing. From there it's been an adventure. Skiing has been something that I have put countless hours into whether it has been traveling to a ski mountain or building a terrain park in my backyard. Once you feel the cold wind at the top of the mountain, that is one of the best feelings you can get. What is even better is once you don't feel that cold wind at the top of the mountain, you feel it in your face skiing down the mountain. That is one of the many reasons why I love skiing. When I am skiing it feels like I can forget about everything and just ski. I have had a passion for water skiing since I was little so I knew that snow skiing was going to be a good thing for me to do as well.
When I started skiing I took a lesson at the mountain. During the lesson my instructor was taking us very slow and on the easiest trail of the mountain every time. After the lesson I saw my friends, who have been skiing for many years, and I decided to go with them. At this moment I knew that going with them was the wrong decision. I was going down trails that were very difficult, making it so I fell on the hard packed down snow multiple times. From doing that I was determined to get better. During that time I have spent an outrageous amount of hours trying to get better. From skiing over the years I have now been able to compete with my friends. Competing is what I strive for; I need to be the best. With skiing it is challenging and always has new things I could do to become better. There is nothing better than skiing with your best friends and competing with them if it is who could go to the bottom the fastest or who could do the best trick over a jump. Striving for that is another reason I love skiing and how it has changed me as a
