This quote defines my character as an individual with the desire to make a change in someone's life who is less fortunate as I am. Those exact words are used as the motivational push that I need in order to achieve my ultimate goal of becoming a well-renowned physician who provides service to those who are incapable of affording the best medical plan available to treat their health disparities. This desire became vital to my success because while pursuing my undergraduate education at Spelman College, help was the key component that allowed me to overcome any difficult obstacle that I had encountered. Spelman College’s motto, “A Choice to Change the World,” is a primary reason that I chose to pursue an undergraduate education there. This motto represented the vision that I had established myself well before attending college. This educational journey has not been the easiest task. In fact, this journey has been extremely difficult and my character has been constantly tested. I have learned so much about myself as well as my surroundings. Throughout this journey, I have encountered various hardships such as not being financially stable, not making acceptable grades on exams, and above all, not being mentally/emotionally equipped to overcome certain issues. Facing these challenges, I am now able to withstand the negatives and strive towards the positive aspects and lessons that are to come. Due to myself experiencing various intellectual and emotional challenges, I have become durable enough to overcome anything that may be an issue while serving as a Peace Corps
