Have you ever thought about school without extra-curricular activities? At Garden Spot Middle School this is becoming a reality and it is mind-numbing. The sport of Soccer has been taken away from the Middle School because of funding issues. Soccer helps people stay healthy and fit while also letting them get involved in extra-curricular activities outside school. Furthermore, many people want to play soccer, and it is quickly becoming one of the most popular sports. Soccer should be reinstated as a sport at Garden Spot Middle School.

Soccer helps people to stay healthy. It has been shown that soccer has improved people's health dramatically. For example, many times when teenagers are not occupied they resort to misbehavior. Most times their misbehavior can result in a small scolding but other times it it much more severe. Under occupied teenagers can resort to drugs, violence and vandalism all because all for the sake of boredom. Furthermore, the city will have to hire more law enforcement officers to make up for the growing number of teenage deviants. It is far less expensive to hire two soccer coaches then ten police officers. Many children can also stay occupied by making friends in soccer. Instead of breaking rules and doing wrong they can instead be playing with their friends and going to each other's houses. Many parents might argue that making friends is hard for their children or they are bullied when playing soccer.
