"Doing good around the world is what I love about America. I have seen first-hand the incredible work our country does. I've seen the goodwill it builds. I have met people who are alive today because of American assistance. I believe in America, and that is why I believe in American aid." (Foreign Aid). Hunger is becoming a serious problem throughout the nations. It is a very important topic that citizens need to pay more attention to, because there are many countries that are in need of food aid more than the United States. Providing food aid can help so much more than you think.

Throughout history, America has always acted as good neighbors to the world. Ethiopia has used our country's support for many years. "Ethiopians have been waiting for the spring rains to replenish water sources and to plant crops after the most severe drought in decades pushed more than 10 million people into hunger." (Paul Schemm, Elias Mesert; Associated Press). This is just something that proves the amount of help food aid has offered other nations in their time of need. The drought also …show more content…

Aid to the poor is less than 0.5 percent of the federal budget. It amounts to 14 cents per American per day. It hardly makes sense to think we can solve our fiscal problems by cutting funding to the poorest people in the world."
