Animal cruelty is the worst traumatizing event that can happen to any animal. Whether it is a dog, cat, snake or any animal on the planet, this activity must stop. It is unforgivable to harm an animal intentionally. Animal cruelty happens either because people do not know they are harming animals, they are being pressured into doing it, or it makes them feel powerful. This has been an ongoing issue over many decades. It is a horrible epidemic and should not be allowed to continue. There are two types of animal cruelty inflicted on animals: passive cruelty and active cruelty. Active cruelty includes deliberate intent to harm an animal, creating immediate pain and suffering, while passive cruelty is when a person neglects his/her animal by not feeding, bathing , or giving the animal the health attention that it needs. There are many ways that different communities can do that. One of them is knowing how to report animal abuse. People could either call the animal control center, animal shelters, animal rescue centers or, the police to report abuse. When the individual make the call they need to be sure that they state the details, such as the location, date and time, and descriptions of the people and animals involved (Admin). After the phone call, the individual should try to collect some evidence by taking pictures or videos to help strengthen their case. Last but not least, they should prepare to testify against the accuser. The case would be much stronger if that individual is willing to identify themselves to what they witnessed. A human witness is extremely vital to for creating an indestructible argument. Last but not least there is always donating to an organization.
