Are you a teen looking for a job and you love kids? If you said yes to that question babysitting will be a perfect fit for you. Babysitting is a great teen job, but there are many things you will need to learn before becoming a babysitter. Babysitting requires a lot of attention to the child you are babysitting. So, if you’re hoping you can just sit back and relax that’s not the case. Children need lots of time and attention. Each age range needs certain things. If you are babysitting a baby then you will need to be watching it 24/7, changing diapers, and feeding the baby. As each age group goes up it will be easier, but it all depends on the child.
First, before you start babysitting you can take classes like babysitting training classes, CPR class, and if your school provides a child development class take that it will help. Ask the parents if the child has any allergies or medical related things you should be aware of. Most likely the parents will tell you if there is something you should know, but to be on the safe side, ask. Also make sure that you ask what time the parents will be back. Make sure to talk to the parents about how you’re getting home and to their house. Ask the parents about the child so you know certain things they like, favorite items, and favorite things to do.
Now finally onto the babysitting part. Depending on their age, if they are 3 and up you can find fun activities to do such as drawing, playing with barbies or cars. Entertaining the children you are watching is a big part of babysitting. If you don’t interact with the children then they will not like you and you will become the boring babysitter. If you babysit a certain child then you might want to look up ideas and crafts to do with him or her. If they aren't into crafts or activities then find something they
