Birth Control
Birth control is a method used for preventing unwanted pregnancies and more. Should teenagers be allowed to use this product without parent’s permission? Many people think they should be allowed to. I believe that if the teenager thinks that it is necessary to be using it, they should use it, regardless of what the parent thinks. To be considerate, the teen should probably think about how the parent feels about the situation, but in the end it is better safe than sorry. Also, teenagers sometimes find it hard to talk to parents about these kinds of things and being open is difficult at this age ("Birth Control And Contraceptives: Should Teenage Girls Need Parental Consent?").
The first reason teenagers should be allowed to get protection without a parent’s permission is because of safety. Forcing teens to ask parents for permission will not work. They will still carry on, just without the contraceptives, and this increases many risks. These risks include unintended pregnancies and STDs ("Preventing Teenagers From Getting Contraceptives Unless They Tell A Parent Puts Teens At Risk"). In other words, it’s dangerous to make teenagers get permission because they will not want to get permission and continue without the use of protection.
