Have we become a trivial culture, preoccupied with entertainment? In many ways, yes we have, we are constantly surrounded with these distractions such as social media, internet, television, cell phones and the list can keep going. Much like huxley's view on how pleasure is becoming more than the real thing, I do agree. Social media and technology has taken over our lives.These distractions have influenced our society as a whole in many ways and in some way better than others. When it comes to the topic of if our society is headed in the wrong directions , most of us will readily agree that,that is definitely a possibility due to the many compelling advances we've made along the years to make our lives more enjoyable and pleasurable . Where this agreement usually ends, however, is on the question of rather or not this will make us a greater society or put us at risk of becoming much like brave new world where society is based on the constant thrill and pleasure . While some are convinced that these will only be helping us and making our live more enjoyable , others believe that though that may be true, it can also put us in a situation where all we want is to be surrounded by things that satisfy us and won't want to deal with real problems that occur. …show more content…
