Because kids these days are spending so much time in front of the computer and phones at such a young age, they must know the dangers that lye on the internet. If they were taught this at a young age they might be more cautious on the internet. According to surveys carried out through the capital cities of Australia only 29% of children knew what cat fishing was, this is saying that only that 29% where educated about cat fishing at school and understood it. Whilst the other 71% are vulnerable to being a victim to catfishing.
Kids are not educated enough about this issue, yes they do talk about it at school but for a few weeks until the subject is finished but then isn’t talked about for another year, or even never again. If teachers drilled this into kids they might understand more and be more aware if a catfish ever did approach them. If they were more aware of this they could educate there peers about catfishing.
