Doctor Assisted Suicide
Every human has the basic right to their own life, and this includes their right to die peacefully as possible. Many medical patients with diseases and other sicknesses are close to dying. Many medical patients are having to take doctor prescribed drugs that may save them or may kill them. Many medical patients are in so much pain, that they want to die to end their suffering, and we have no right to deprive them of a peaceful death. Doctor Assisted Suicide should be legal for certain medical reasons.
Most medical patients require pain medication that has side effects that hasten death. To fasten their death at their will, makes time with their family less uncertain. Withholding a more certain and less painful death experience is taking away a liberty every human deserves. (“Ethics In Medicine”, 1) This makes for a more easy, less stressful death experience for the patient and family. Fastening the death of a patient at their will makes their dying experience less scary. Compassion must be given to the patient because with more suffering there are more problems physically, mentally, and more, making their death experience a burden. Many medical patients are so close to dying they just want to end their life so they can say their goodbyes and are certain they are going to die instead of not knowing when it will happen. Lastly, many medical patients are suffering and do not want to suffer any longer, and with Doctor Assisted Suicide can end their suffering and pain.
